Watch The Parable Of The Seed And The Sower For Kids

This first Sunday school lesson of a series about the parable of the sower will help the children discover how truly wonderful the Word of God is, and how we must keep it close to our hearts with truth and understanding. Between Jesus teaching the parable and explaining it to the disciples Jesus tells them that the difference in people's response is not the result of their efforts or the brilliance of their ministry strategy or the skill of their oratory, but rather the sovereign grace of God.
Later, Jesus explains to his disciples that the seed represents the Gospel, the sower represents anyone who proclaims it, and the various soils represent people's responses to it (the first three representing rejection while the last one represents acceptance).

The seed in the thorns is like someone who hears the Word of God, but they are so worried about everything else going on in their life that the Word slowly gets forgotten and never has a chance to grow and help them become all that Jesus wants them to be.
Jesus' disciples needed to understand that not everyone would be open to the gospel message. I challenge you to be like the good soil in Jesus' parable. After he was finished he would cover the The Parable of the Sower For Kids seeds over with soil and then wait for the plants to grow. While Jesus was with his disciples and went around teaching to all the crowds who came to hear him, He often spoke in parables.

The person whose heart is like the good soil hears the good news about God and receives it. He bears fruit, more than what was planted. He who opens people's ears so that they hear the word and treasure Jesus above all else. The soil is your heart. Also, use this time to take the topic where the students want to go. Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal to them what truths he wants them to learn from the story, and help them understand how this story can be applied to their lives.
Now it was not common for Jesus to explain his parables. I hate the "Parable of the Sower" because it tells me that word ministry will involve a lot of disappointment. Encourage volunteers to pray aloud, asking for God's help to stick to His Word and grow. Meditate on the truths of illustrated by the seed and sower to understand many of the other parables of Jesus.

Narrator: Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Jesus' story is called the Parable of the Sower and the Seed. The Gospels record dozens of Jesus' parables—stories Jesus told to help people understand what the kingdom of heaven is like.
That's the way it was with the seed that fell on the rocky soil. So, they learn a little about God and His Word, but they don't grow very strong. Jesus often said that the unwilling and those without faith would not understand the deeper meanings of the parables he told.
